The guest rooms at Clarion Hotel Mestari were designed around how a room feels late in the evening. Exposed brick and concrete are balanced with warm timber, textile headboards and layered lighting that can drop to a single reading pool of light. Every room keeps a trace of the original building — a beam, a brick wall, a roof slope — so that no two rooms are experienced as identical products. In addition to all fixed furniture, the rooms include bespoke luminaires in I-beam shape inspired by the builder masters’ work field, combining direct and indirect light. Together with the young sculptors Pulkkinen & Rautiainen, a metal relief was designed for the rooms.
